Though Assam is but to report a constructive coronavirus case, the state authorities is just not taking any probability, asking its folks to strictly comply with the 21-day lockdown introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.
“In view of the emergent situation arising due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19 pandemic), Assam Cricket Association president Romen Dutta and secretary Devajit Saikia, on behalf of the state body, has decided to offer the Barsapara Stadium and its premises to Government of Assam for establishing temporary hospital and quarantine centre,” Saikia mentioned in an announcement.
“ACA will present each potential help to the state authorities to struggle the novel coronavirus outbreak throughout this important juncture.”
On Tuesday, former Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president and present BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly had provided Eden Gardens’ indoor facility and the gamers dormitory to the West Bengal authorities to create a brief medical facility to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
“If the federal government asks us, we will definitely hand over the ability. Anything that’s want of the hour, we are going to do it. There is totally no drawback,” Ganguly was quoted as saying by PTI.
The pandemic has up to now claimed 13 lives within the nation whereas infecting practically 650 folks. Globally, it has resulted in over 22000 deaths whereas infecting lakhs of individuals.
