A report in PTI said {that a} case had been registered towards three individuals in Palghar for allegedly betting on Indian Premier League matches.

Palghar police PRO Sachin Navadkar mentioned that performing on a tip-off, the police had nabbed medical retailer proprietor Jinesh Punamiya, who was betting on IPL matches.

On checking his cellphone, the police discovered a hyperlink to at least one Irfan Shaikh and his affiliate Shahbaz, who have been inserting bets via a cellular utility, he mentioned.

A case has been registered towards the trio underneath related sections of the Maharashtra Gambling Act at Dahanu police station, the official mentioned, including that no arrests have been made up to now.

Twenty matches have been performed this season up to now. The 13th version is being held throughout three venues within the UAE.
